Over the holidays, a local high school junior student said, “Uncle, I am interested in the SparkSIP internship“. I am always glad to hear the interest to do internships from high school students. I was however surprised to hear this ask because we had not even started the discussion at our advisory board for SparkSIP. It turns out that this boy’s friends had gone to SparkSIP in the past year or two. His friends had good things to say about the internship, so he is preparing for it in his junior year.
It had been fantastic 3 years for us running the internship program. We had about 50 students matched with 10s of local Seattle businesses and the University of Washington. In the past two weeks we at SparkSIP internally sketched out our plans for the coming year. We set our goals to have 20 internships sponsored this year.
