Venturing into capital?

Recently one of my relative expressed interest to be in investment banking or venture capital. I was impressed that in his early 20s she has conviction to enter the world of venturing. I was also intrigued if she had sufficient understanding the job. She claimed that she had done well in math, accounting, and business, during the college years. Being in a startup, working with other startups as an angel investor, and mentoring a few others in an accelerator, has helped me get a better perspective. Nonetheless it is a bit early for her to consider venturing into capital.

And yesterday I discovered this Venture Capital Aptitude Test (VCAT) on Guy Kawasaki’s blog. It has valuable advice for everyone aspiring to be in the venture capital community, unless of course they have their own funds to work with. I strongly recommend everyone consider taking this VCAT assessment.
