Retail Innovation – online, offline, and mobile integrated

Today I came across a nice experience that Home Depot has built up for connecting their online and offline experiences.

In searching for a house hold tool – telescoping tool, I discovered the nice experience. I often go to my default store – Amazon. Unfortunately I did not find a suitable one. So I popped back to google for a search. Google showed me a variety of results. I went to Home Depot site from there. I found a 20′ long telescoping pole. Sometimes I might find an item online and not be able to get it locally. Not this time, the site told me that the item is in stock at the local store. Further more it told me where in the store I might find it. Nice! Not to be done, the site also offered to send me a text message on the location. Great!

This is alluring and simple isn’t it. I will be driving near the store anyways. So why not I pick it up when they have made it so convenient for me to get an item.

It is great to see the assorted products be available and that too it is connecting the online with retail store with mobile. Nice experience overall from Home Depot.
